What Skills/Experiences Make You a Good Candidate to be an Officer of BCALA?
Having served in several leadership positions and having worked with a multitude of diverse populations where I have guided and implemented projects attaining successful outcomes, I believe I am very good candidate. From this variety of leadership positions, I have acquired skills and wisdom applicable to many situations. Some of my experiences are:
- University-wide Budget Workgroup (2/2017 – present)
- Re-Appointment to serve on the Association of Colleges and Research Libraries (ACRL) ACRL Budget & Finance Committee, second term 7/1/2016 – 6/30/2020
- Conference Co-Chair of the 8th National Conference of African American Librarians (NCAAL)(2011-2014)
- President of the Kentucky Library Association (KLA), in this instance KLA partnered with the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) National Diversity in Libraries Conference (NDLC), Kentucky School Media Association (KSMA), and the Southeastern Library Association (SELA) (2006-2007, President-Elect) (2007-2008, President), (2008-2009, Immediate Past President)
